Chez Flo & Pippa!

One of my favouritest couples in the world, Florian & Phillippa, were kind enough to have myself and Lauren over for dinner last weekend before a big night out. Not only that but the next day they had us ALL over the best Sunday BBQ going away party of all time. The stylish couple have an equally stylish flat and I jumped at the chance to take a few snaps of the decor - Joli Lapin approved! Thank you Flo & Pippa xx

Sunday Roast At The Roebuck

Last Sunday was a very long and very stressful moving day. Poor Nina from Paris had to endure the whole things with us! Its a part of her trip to London she'll probably never forget, but would like to I'm sure!

Anyway, once we finally got ourselves to Chiswick and could relax, we treated ourselves to three fantastic roast chicken dinners, lots of wine and even dessert! Best of all the weather was amazing and we got to sit in their lovely back garden in the sunshine.

If you're in the area, I recommend popping by, for more info click HERE xo

Presents From Paris...

Well, it was a present form Corsica, really, which might be even better! Nina, a present from Paris herself, came to visit London over the weekend and brought me this beautiful bottle of rose. Mmmm mmm it sure was delicious! When Nina and I get together we consume a lot of wine together. A lot. We LOVE wine. How much? Well, you can probably tell from the pictures above xo

Munchies at Mrs Marengo's

My BFF Rachel made a one-day pit stop in London on her way back to Montreal from her lovely week-long trip in Paris. J'adore that she came to visit, even if it was for just one day! We walked all over London town and (window) shopped til we almost dropped. Wearing heels on our day out together was a bad idea, to rest our sore soles, we stopped into Mrs. Marengo's in Soho for coffee and cake at tea time - it was delicious! Rachel had a fruity nut cake, which to Joli appeared far too healthy for a tea time choice, so opted for the lemon and pistachio slice - yum yum! Be sure to stop by when you're next in the neighborhood, click HERE for more info.

Steam Dreams

Hooray!! I almost ripped an Evening Standard out of the hands of an old lady sitting across from me on the train last night - NOT because I'm a horrible person that doesn't respect the elderly, but because I was so excited to see my friend Ben and his little colourful baby steamers in a huge feature! I first met Ben at the last London Fashion Week and he very kindly gifted the ELLE fashion team with one of his aqua steamers. Before our very own Fridja steamer, we were stuck with huge, mal-functioning steamers form the 70s that were HELL to use on a daily basis, let along take on shoots. Now, thanks to his kind gift and incredible invention, we pack our little baby up and take it on shoots far and wide! Thank you Ben Fridja! And congrats on this amazing feature, you deserve it! Read the full article by clicking HERE!

Ps. Fridja steamers retail for a mere £99! So if you, like me, have always dreamt of owning your own steamer, well you should click HERE to buy one from the Fridja website, like, right now!

Cool LDN Flats 101

There was an instant mutual agreement between Joli and friends upon arriving at Daniel's flat the other week - he lives in the coolest flat in London, hands down. The three-story space is literally connected to Spitalfields Market (see the windows above Daniel's head? Yup, those look out over the market. WHAT!? I know...) and comes complete with exposed brick walls and fantastic interior decor. Sometimes when at home, Joli closes her eyes and pretends her flat is as awesome as his. Joli still loves her flat, but wouldn't say no to an exchange one day!

416 Snack Bar

"Hey Look! Snacks + Booze!"

Hallelujah! The bar of my dreams is finally open, and it's been opened by one of my friends! Snacks and booze from 5pm-2am on the daily? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be moving into that joint this summer! TO darling, Adrian Ravinsky, opened up 416 Snack Bar this week, situated just north of Queen on Bathurst, with business partner David Stewart. Three years ago, Adrian aka "Age" launched 416 Snack Bar - the blog - which documented is quest to find culinary perfection. After working at top TO restaurants including Ferro, Brassaii, Buca and Gilead, I'm so happy to hear that Adrian has opened up his own snack spot - set to become one of the city's faves in no time, no doubt. Good luck boys! Can't wait to come by and try it out. For those of you in the city now, well, whatcha waiting for!? Click HERE for more info.

My lovely BFF, SLC, sent me the best belated b-day/x-mas box full of gifts last week. I came home to find the massive box sitting on my kitchen table and jumped up and down full of excitement. Light blue nail polish a la Clueless (our fave movie ever, obviously), lip care, cute socks, a Brooklyn tote and... RECIPE CARDS!! What Joli has always wanted! Thank you, SLC!! Hearts, hearts, hearts - "WAHevaaaaaah!" xx

Retro Summer Pimms

...Actually, make that Sangria - I'm not too keen on Pimms.

Don't you just lOove my retro pitcher set?? I bought it towards the end of the summer at a Charity Shop for £3.50 with the hopes of hosting more garden parties and being able to put it to good use. Unfortunately, lousy English summer weather meant no more parties and I had to pack it away in the cupboard.

On Thanksgiving Sunday I had two friends over for dinner and was determined to pull out and show off all of my best kitchen finds by putting them to use. Even though it was a small party of four, I picked out my four favourite glasses and filled the jug with Brita water for us all to enjoy throughout the evening. Party hosting success!

Happy 10/10/10

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone!!
Today I'm feeling very grateful to have so many great Canadians here in London with me, and thanking Dani and Hayley for hosting a fantastic Thanksgiving Pot Luck Party last night. Old friends, new friends and strangers all came together last night at a flat just off of Brick Lane to enjoy and celebrate our favourite holiday together. How lucky we were to be in a room filled with incredible chefs! All dishes were homemade and absolutely delicious! For staters we had stuffed mushrooms and an amazing, ginger-infused butternut squash soup. The main included all the much-loved traditional dishes - stuffing, roast chicken (couldn't get a Turkey ANYWHERE!), roast veg, candied yams and cranberry sauce. For dessert we enjoyed a crumble and pumpkin pie cheesecake thanks to Clara who performed a Thanksgiving miracle by tracking down the one and only can of pumpkin pie puree in all of the East End!
Wishing everyone back home and abroad a wonderful, and extra happy thanksgiving this year on 10/10/10! x
